Government - Pike County Service Center
Waverly, Ohio Approximately 25,000 sq. ft.
Project Completion March 2002
Many counties are faced with large vacated retail buildings
that at times can sit empty causing an eyesore to the surrounding
community. In order to deal with one such instance, Pike County
officials purchased a vacated K-Mart building with hopes to
revitalize the space into the Pike County Service Center.
Bringing Government offices together with courthouse space
brought many challenges to the design of this property. ADA
issues and security systems issue need to be a priority. Utilizing
the project management skills of Continental’s Resource
Consultant and design team, officials were able to work within
the schedules of all vendors completing the interior installation
of this project within 10 days.
Several furniture options were used in order to accommodate
for courtrooms, judges chambers, and county agency offices.
Systems furniture, freestanding desk units, conference room
furniture as well ergonomic seating, bench seating, storage
and high-density filing systems completed this project. The
Pike County Service Center currently houses the County Courthouse
facilities, holding cells, Auditor, Treasurer and County Commissioner
offices
